POTD 26 February 2004: ROME DAY SEVEN - Looking Up

Weather wise today was a real improvement on yesterday. I still spent most of my time excluding white skies from my images - at least there was some brightness and it was dry. I could have chosen a number of images for today's POTD but I think this one will be a favourite of mine for years to come.

The dome of Basilica San Pietro (St. Peter's Basilica), Rome. In the foreground is the baldacchino by Bernini. The bronze canopy is directly over the site of St. Peter's tomb.
